Daily Bread 3-19-19

1 Corinthians 10:9

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

ref. - Nu 25:1 - And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with he daughters of Moab.

The lesson for today through this scripture is simple; Don't test the waters. We often have a habit of pushing all tings to the edge to see how far we can take them. The word of God today is telling is not to even try it. There is no fence that we can ride, there is no gray area, there is no in between. In Christ there is only one way; His way. We see others "getting by" with things and wonder if we, too, can get by. We think that there are no repercussions or consequences because they don't come at once but if it goes against what Christ teaches, it is not to be done. There is great history of those who thought they were "getting by" and they came to an end. Their eyes have been blinded and what they once had has been taken away. So it is time to not be fooling around and to study and learn the commandments of Christ and his gospel. Not trying to just get by but striving for excellence in all things that he has commanded. And just remember, not all are serving this savior or this gospel. Even with an appearance of godliness if we are not living in parallel to the gospel of Christ we will some day be destroyed. That is not for us and failure is not what Gods plan is for any of us. If we have found Christ and been found by Christ, let's remain in him!! He is our all in all and all things are fulfilled through a life in Him.
