Daily Bread 2-18-19

Revelation 7:13-17

13. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14. And I said unto him, Sir, thou knows. And he said to me, These are they which came out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15. Therefor are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitters on the throne shall dwell among them.

16. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

17. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountain of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

ref. - v 14 - Ac 14:22 - Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Heb 9:14 - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Rev 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

v 15 - Isa 4:5,6 - And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

v 16 - Isa 49:10 - They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of the water shall he guide them.

Ps 121:6 - The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

Ps 23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Jn 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Isa 25:8 - He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.

Revelation is a pretty tough area to venture into but for some reason God wanted us to read this very thing this morning. First, we have confirmation that we will be those people in white if we follow after Christ and allow him to transform us into children of God. It is truly confirmed, through the testimony of Revelation, that Christ has chosen its and also did shed his blood for us. But most importantly, and the great news of all of this is, that through all of the things that we will suffer on this earth, one day we will be in paradise and Jesus Christ himself will dwell among us! The word says that God will wipe away ALL tears from our eyes and that we will hunger and thirst no more!! Our work will be complete and we will receive our heavenly reward!! We hear, and it is confirmed through the references, that this message held true in the prophets, it holds true in the teachings of Christ and the Apostles today, and it will hold true in the Revelation of what is to come!! Jesus Christ is the same! Yesterday!! Today!! and Forever!! We have been put in a fortunate situation and it is well worth following after Jesus Christ. As we get into Revelation further, even in Chapter 8 we start to see the true destruction and suffering that the world is going to suffer when the end comes and it is not going to be a good place to be. But we have the opportunity!! The word says that only 144,000 people of the tribes of Israel will be taken up, but it says that ALL who follow Christ will be saved! So, take this time on this earth wisely and be careful not to fall too deeply in love with this place. When it all burns up and the seas are no more, we will be rescued because of a man named Jesus and the sacrifice that he made when he shed his blood on that cross for us. There is no one, and I mean no one, that loves us more than the one who is going to dwell with us in glory! Praise God for Jesus Christ!! Have a great day!!!
