Daily Bread 2-15-19
Psalms 43
1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
ref. - v1. Ps 7:8 - The Lord shall judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
v2. Ps 28:7 - The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song I will praise him.
Is 26:4 - Trust ye in the Lord forever: for the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
v3. Ps 2:6 - Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Ps 3:4 - I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah
v5. Ps 42:5 - Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Some times we get to the point where we feel the world is winning the war. Worn down and full of anguish and defeat. The only thing that can save us in this is the mercy of God. Look at how many times we looked elsewhere and how many times we had to endure defeat because of it. The only help or comfort or answers we got that helped us came from the word of God and his Spirit that dwells within us. As the word of God says, in a nutshell, times are hard and they're only gonna get harder. This world is not going to do anything to lead us into eternity but condemn us to hell. But the God we serve, and he is a mighty God, will deliver us from all evil and place us in his sanctuary. So when we begin to feel down and the Spirit in us has quieted down, let us pray to the Lord. Let us confirm our love for him and our trust that he will deliver us from anything or anyone who is attacking. The mountains in our way will crumble at the name of Jesus Christ! The enemies will fall at the mere mention of his name! No matter what any of us are going through, children of God, we must keep our trust in him and watch as he does what he does. Our God is a merciful, forgiving, and just God. He will not leave us destroyed or even defeated, but we must endure through the things that this world throws at us.
