Daily Bread 12-5-18
Hebrews 6:18-20
18. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisadec.

Ps 130:7 - Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
Lv 16:15 - Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:
Heb 9:7 - But unto the second went the hight priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people.
Heb 4:14 - Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 8:1 - Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne the Majesty in the heavens.
The days of the Levitical priesthood are over. The days of any priesthood, for that matter is over. All but the throne of the high priesthood that Christ will sit upon forever. We can have many different opinions and man can form many different theories but there is one thing that no one, and I mean absolutely no one can debate; God cannot lie. The word of God is true and there is no fault in it. If we believe in the God that we say that we do, then we believe also in his Son. We also believe that there are no lies that cross his tongue and that there is no guile found in his mouth. Rather than putting our hope in what others can do to help us get closer to God or putting the burden of our own salvations on others we must rather look to the only one that we call can agree on is right. That being Jesus Christ. Not only a few words of Jesus Christ or a portion of the doctrine and gospel that he has shown us, but the full gospel. There will no longer be sacrifices and blood spread upon altars as we are told in the word of God, in which there are no lies, that Jesus Christ made the eternal sacrifice for us. We can sit and hatch about what the profits did and what those that have passed before us did but in all reality, the truth is in Jesus Christ and anyone that is of God will direct us that way. Don't believe it? Well, you believe in the prophets don't you? If so, who and what were they talking about in their prophecy? Who were they telling us would come? Yes, it was Jesus Christ that would come. And he has. These men were great men of God but still men nonetheless. If we profess to be "Christians" then let us follow the one that we name ourselves after. Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life. If we follow his lead and look into his life and teachings we will find that the full gospel is included in everything that he has, and is still through his Holy Spirit, giving us. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No changes, no private interpretation will hold, but the lamb of God will be on the right hand of God and our high priest forever. God is good and Jesus Christ is our way to all truth. Let's follow him into eternity!! Have a. great day!!
