Daily Bread 11-19-18

2 Thessalonians 4:8

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his Holy Spirit.

ref. - Lk 10:16 - He that hearth you hearth me, and he who despiseth you despiseth me; snd he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

1Jn 3:24 - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

We must pay close attention to how we treat other people of God while also keeping a close eye on how we treat the things of God. This promise not only pertains to those who oppress us but could also put us in the category of the oppressor. Therefore, we must first pay attention to ourselves and realize that if we despise, disagree, or hate something that God has given us, which includes those who he ha. given us in the family of God, we will be not in jeopardy of jut offending one of his children but we will be in offense to first Jesus Christ, and ultimately God. So how do we despise one another? We don't care for one another, we don't love one another. In turn this despises God. You see, we are not in the family of Etterman or Cortez, or Martinez..........Once we enter into the family of God, we are in the family of Christian. This family was planned out before our lives began and those who he has chosen to be a part of this family are chosen for his purpose. This is not a dysfunctional family, it is created to be the perfect family. This is why we have been given this Spirit, the self same Spirit that comes directly from our Father. So, just as being obedient to God is very important in our lives as part of this family, so is our necessity to love one another. So, we can look at others and say, oh, oh, they are really going to be in for it. But let us first make sure that we have the love of Christ in us and most importantly the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Without the Holy Spirit there will be no understanding of the Spiritual family that we have been put in and this is why the Church is in the shape it is in today. We don't understand God's love. We understand the commandment, but not what his love is really all about. We despise one another because we don't understand God's love. The Spirit is not within many of you and it causes confusion because you mingle earthly thoughts, ideas, and traditions, with the things of God. This is all you know, for the moment. This is not a bad thing, it is just something to make us sanctify our lives so that we can one day understand. But, to touch on it briefly, the way that some treat the Holy Spirit filled men of God is not only appalling in men's eyes, but this scripture proves that it is a direct offense to God. How will they get closer to God if they keep disobeying an despising his messengers. I am talking about true Holy Ghost filled men and women of God. We know, as this even and women, that worldly people will despise us as we have something that they do not possess, but for those who are serving God and trying to find their way in the kingdom to despise the ones that have already been chosen is like trading on a thin piece of ice. You may be able to take a few careful steps and survive but eventually you will misstep and fall into the icy water. So, today, if you are truly filled with His Holy Spirit and being despised, just know that God is in control of it all. But if you are caught up in despising or hating one of God's chosen, first of all, the Spirit is not in you, and second of all, you are headed for a great fall. The best thing to do is to seek for a transformation and a true salvation through repentance and remission of sins. God will forgive those who come to him with humble hearts and a little bit of faith. After all, that's how God's family got here in the first place. Won't you be a part of it? We will be waiting for you!!!! Have a great day!!!
