Daily Bread 11-15-18

1 Corinthians 13:8-10

8. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10. But when that which is perfect is come, that which is in part shall be done away.

ref. - 1 Co 8:2 - And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

Jn 6:45 - It is written in the prophets, And they shall be taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

There will come a day when Christ comes again. It will be in this second coming that we will realize that our time of help and our time of gifts and all these things will cease. When we have the perfect one in front of us, we will soon find out how imperfect we really were. But there will be one thing that will remain because in it there are no faults an in it there is no small portion, but an outpouring of God's perfect charity. Charity is love. God is love. And one day we will be with him in the place that he has prepared for us. There will no longer be a need for tongues(a sign for the non-believer), there will no longer be prophecy(a communication of God's will for us and information on things to come), there will no longer be a need for knowledge. But love will remain. Well doing will remain. A perfect place for the perfect man. That man is Jesus Christ and we are his disciples. The non-believer will not be there so there will be no need for tongues as we will communicate from our hearts and souls. There will no longer be a need for prophecies for in Jesus Christ all prophecy will have been or be fulfilled. Our knowledge will not be necessary as we will be face to face with the one who is omnipotent, or all-seeing and all-knowing. All we have is an earnest of the Spirit, but the one who is the Spirit in full shall be with us and in front of us. All that we will have is the good things that God has put in us and that is love, or charity. Even the world sees charity as donating things to the needy, they know not even the meaning of the word in full, but only in part. But true charity is God's love from beginning to eternity!! So let us prepare ourselves for this journey and push out the wrath and evil speaking and jealousy and hatred and be filled with the charity that God created us to be filled with. That is love!!! Pray without ceasing that we can be filled and ready when he comes!! Have a great day!!
