Daily Bread 11-14-18

Psalms 101:8

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

ref. - Jer 21:12 - O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

When David was king he held a lot of power. He had power to order people even to their death. He was given the power to judge and he had the power to execute it. Those who transgressed and those who were caught on the wrong side of his judgment had to live in fear of their lives. He was a terror to evil works and evil doers. Today we no longer live under the power of a human king but we do need to face our savior with the same fear and know that the power is in his hands. We do not see him so we do not fear him, and in this we show our lack of faith and the enemy attacks. You see, faith is not just the belief of good things, it is also the belief of the other promises that we are given. The promises of damnation and repercussion if we are caught in transgression. God has given Jesus Christ power over all things in heaven and on the earth so we must approach him with dignity, honor, respect, and honesty. And most of all, fear. Now, if we take it down a notch to what we can do in our personal lives. We can say that the Spirit within us, if it be the Spirit of God, can also have the same attitude that King David had. We can, with the power of the Spirit, not allow these things to enter into our hearts. We can, with the Spirit, Execute judgment upon ourselves each day and determine what needs getting rid of and what can remain in our hearts. You see, the kingdom of God is within us as the word says and we have the power to destroy any other Spirit other than the Spirit of God if we possess this Holy Spirit. In the Holy Spirit we have been given the power to cut off all those wicked and evil things, thoughts, and ways that are holding us back from the peace that is promised in Jesus Christ. We must first determine in ourselves what will stay and what will go and then set our minds to it. As David was given the power and set his mind to cleaning his kingdom, we must also receive the power and determine within ourselves to rule our own "Spiritual" kingdom. Stand firm, stand strong, make up our minds, and call on God for the armor needed to defend our clean city(hearts and souls) from any onslaught that the enemy can throw at us! Remember, Brothers and Sisters, All things are possible with Christ Jesus. Phillippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. He has the power and he will not hold back from giving the same to us if we prepare ourselves for the baptism of his Holy Spirit!! Set your mind and set your eyes on Jesus Christ. In him, all things will be established and all things will be executed, including judgment. He is our only hope and he is more than enough!! Have a great day!!!
