Daily Bread 11-7-18

2 Peter 2:12,13

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of things that they understand not; and shall utterly perishing their own corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are, and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving while they feast with you;

ref. - Jer 12:3 - But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

Ph 3:19 - Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.

Ro 13:13 - Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkeness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

1Co 11:20,21 - When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

In this scripture we are learning about how to identify the unjust, or the ones that are being reserved unto the day of judgment(v9). And how to look at ourselves and make sure we are not being identified as such. The questions we need to ask ourselves first and then also determine where those around us fall into are these; Do we doubt or disagree with what we are being taught because we don't understand it or have never learned it? Do we remain in the beliefs of the ignorant even though God's wisdom is being shared with us and we are being taught the true, unfeigned word of God and will of God? Do we have no problem disagreeing or fighting against those who have been put in authority over us even though they stand for the truth? Do we have no problem lying to others even though we know the truth? Have we deceived ourselves with outward appearance or the desire for approval of worldly people while still trying to appear the Disciples of Jesus Christ? For all these things there is swift destruction that awaits but God still allows it. In part, so that the disobedient and ignorant can stand out and be manifest, and the obedient and Godly can also be identified. If we are going to be a part of God's Church then we need to not to put on a show to gain the favor of people like these slow bellies do, but we need to join together in unity with the Church and the Bible doctrine. Just think of it as this, you may think that you are gaining power by fighting that which was set in order but all you are doing is being reserved into judgment. God already has your number and he is allowing it so that the anti-christ can be marked and avoided. Just keep on going and you will receive your reward. Keep fighting and disagreeing with what the Church is about and who God has chosen to represent it and one day there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is not a promise of man, it is written in the Holy Scriptures, Spiritually discerned, and given for our reproof and correction. God's will would be that we surrender and turn from our wicked ways and become who he called us to be in the beginning. Humble, obedient, strong men and women of God.
