Daily Bread 10-23-18
1 Corinthians 8:6
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
ref. - Eph 4:6 - One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ro 11:36 - For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
Eph 1:20-23 - Which we wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the Church, Which is the body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Ph 2:11 - And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Heb 1:2 - Hath in these last days spoken to us through his Son, by whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds;
There is very little that can be explained that has not already been clearly shown to us by the references to our scripture today. The life and being of a Christian revolves around one thing; Jesus Christ. We know through the scripture that no power has been given to any man in this day but through Jesus Christ. He has been given all the power and the right to distribute it where he pleases. No man had ever defeated death in the way that Christ defeated death, and this is why we know that he was given even more power than even the Holy Prophets. He did not acquire his power from them, they acquired their power from him. God did not name the unrighteous to his throne, nor even what men saw as righteous. He raised up his Son to sit on his right hand and he will be there forever. Today we must ask ourselves this; What or who is at the center of our universe? Is it friends? family? loved ones? career? the prophets? the disciples? the apostles? Determine this within yourself today and see what it is that your world revolves around. As we all know the earth revolves around the sun and without its light we would be in darkness. Well, today, in our spiritual lives, if our world doesn't revolve around the Son, Jesus Christ, we will be filled with darkness as well. There is nothing that the world or even the "saints"(1Co 4:15) can offer us without Jesus Christ. We go around looking for examples in men because our faith is not strong enough to look into the word of God and use Christ himself as our example. We put ourselves and others before the actual Son of God and it will not profit us. This is not to say that there are not, nor have not, been good examples for us to follow. But if it doesn't lead straight to Jesus Christ it is not the right path. In these last days let us not hear the voices of deceit, pride, self loathing, or despair. These voices come from the enemy, but rather let us hear the words of Jesus Christ and be led into victory over this cruel place we call the world. God has made it so easy for us. We have been given only one to focus on and yet we get in our own ways and complicate things. Let your eyes remain focused on Jesus and let our actions and our obedience be unto him. To him be the glory both now and forever, Amen!! Have a great day!!!
