Ephesians 2:1-3

1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3 Among whom we also had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

ref. - Jn 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

1Jn 5:19 - And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

Col 3:6 - For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.

Tit 3:3 - For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

Ps 51:5 - Behold, I was shapened in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

We came from sin and we were sin, but in Christ Jesus we are sin no more! If we read this scripture we will realize that our holiness will come from obedience and Gods wrath will come through disobedience. Paul was reminding the Ephesians that though they did come from sin they were no longer in it as they were quickened, they were changed, and they were saved. Today, we must realize that the old ways that we used to follow are no longer for us. The path that we used to travel on is no more and that God has put us on a new path with new purpose and a new way. That way being the ways of Christ. We must also realize that no matter how much we think that the people of the world are there to help us and to be "on our side" that they will not be and are not on our side until they are quickened as well. Holding on to worldly ways and worldly people will not only condemn them but also us as it is written in Romans 1:32 - Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. We no longer belong there but we belong in line behind Christ. And some, on the other hand, do not acknowledge that they were ever sinners. They come across and proclaim themselves as holy with no testimony of salvation left but only that of a "look at me" status. These men are spots and wrinkles in the very core of a Christian life as they have forgotten where they came from and that they, too, were conceived in sin. They did not come to the Church as saints in any form. Their salvations did not come before they learned this gospel in the Church but only after they believed. But we must remember where we came from and also remember that the old man is dead and that we are truly born again. There was n old man, but he no longer dwell within us as Christ has filled that space. Not to entertain the things and lusts of the world but to follow after Christ and become the souls that we must be to enter in to eternity when the time comes. We must become prepared by him and not through the devices and ways of worldly men who only look at themselves and not God. Christ is the way the truth and the life. If we follow him we will not only find the gate, but also be welcomed in!!! This, my brothers and sister is the path that we are on now, and only the memory of the path we once traveled remains. It is gone, that life is dead, and we have been washed clean by the blood of the lamb!! Let us live for it and in it!! Have a great day!!!
