Daily Bread 5-30-18

2 Peter 3:3,4

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep. all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

ref. - 1 Ti 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.

2 Ti 3:1 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2P 2:10 - But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Mt 24:48 - But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

In this Scripture we have present day prophecy. Today, we are dealing with doubters and scoffers. Not by their own choice, but ignorant of the mercy of Gods love in the Spirit. Too many are still looking at the outcome of worldly events and trying to see the results of Jesus in the flesh. In Spiritual reality, the changes that have been promised are taking place in those who will let them, but internally. Not to be seen by the non believer but to be experienced by all believers. You see, we as followers of Christ do not follow him in letter and deed, but in Spirit and truth. We do not expect the world to become a better place as the word of God says that it will fall away and become desolate, eventually consumed by fire. We do not look for carnal pleasures and material items as blessings of God, but rather the things that occur inside of us where the kingdom of God really dwells. Today, we must be separate in that our goals and desires are for things within and not things that the world has to offer. We will have doubters saying things like, "If your God is so great then why do people die, or why does he let this or that happen?" You see what the problem is is that carnal people are looking for carnal results and this is not what God has to offer. With a Spiritual change we will see things differently and the results or outcome of our situations will be different even though the events of the earth will remain the same or worse. As Christians we are going to have to see people die and we are going to have to see the world go downhill. This is scriptural and Biblical. It is not the events that occur that define the power of God as much was how we handle the events as they occur. As the world and it's so-called Churches go looking for the better life on this earth we, as true worshippers, must be looking for eternal life. Something that is not of this world and cannot be changed by the events of this world. We must be looking toward the next chapter of our lives and making the necessary changes in order to get there. So, as the world leans more into the world, we must lean more into Christ. We must not be surprised as the closer we draw to God Spiritually the more we will see opposition and the more we will have others trying to cast doubts and fears into our hearts. We are entering into the end times and one day closer to meeting our Lord, so let's not let the naysayers and the doubters effect our thoughts and direction. Rather, let us become the strong Christians that we can be Spiritually and we will show them that no matter what the world throws at us and what occurs on this planet, that we are looking for a new Jerusalem, a heavenly place, not created with hands, but lofty in the heavens!! One day he is coming for us, don't let the world get in the way!!! Have great day!!!
