Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
ref. - Mk 1:14 - Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.
Just as from the beginning of Christ's preaching, so must we begin our journey, every day, closer to the Lord. We must repent, for our future is what is at stake and the time is now for us to repent! There has always been one that came before since the beginning of time. From Adam and Eve on out there has been someone to replace those that have finished their course. Just as John came as a voice crying in the wilderness, so came Jesus with a continuation and completion of the gospel in which John had introduced. Now, we re assured that the Gospel and the will of God is complete in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ so we must meditate on what he has given us. This being a sound, righteous, leakproof gospel that will help us to finish our days here and march on into eternal life. But no matter what we can see that God will always provide us with messengers. The difference of what they preached and what the apostles and we preach today is this; what they were bringing was a new direction, it had been around since the beginning, but it was altered to include a people that were not created for it. Their gospel was new, but our is the same gospel and it will never change. So if the gospel says that we must repent, then we must repent. Our time is now and our time is limited to learn of Christ and to follow him. If we do not take heed to this simple command, then all of the knowledge in the world is just knowledge of the world. It will not benefit us as we have not acted in repentance and have not been redeemed. This is our salvation that a man died on the cross and has the power to forgive us our sins if we repent. But repent we must, or the journey will not begin. If you have not asked forgiveness of your sins, no matter who you are and what you have been taught, it is time to ask. The kingdom of heaven is what is at stake and no one can afford to miss out. Good information for a dying world. The only question is...........what will you do with it? Have a great day!!!
