Daily Bread 4-11-18

Hebrews 7:12-14

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

ref. - Isa 11:1 - And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse', and a branch shall grow out of his roots.

Ro 1:3 - Concerning his son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh.

Why do men say that there was a change to the law when Jesus Christ was given the eternal priesthood? Simple, it is written. In the simplest of terms when a new man takes over there are always going to be changes to the rules. The previous man likely gave favor to a certain group of people and neglected others. This is how it was in the days before Christ. Gentiles were not only ignored, they were denied. Now, this probably has many scoffing and ready to stop reading but it is highly urged that you keep reading and understand the true will of God. The changes that have had to be made in Jesus Christ were necessary because a new tribe was introduced. Not someone that Moses was given power to lead, nor even Melchisedec(the last priest that was in power before Jesus). The rules were made different because the new priest, the priest for ever as according to scripture(Heb 7:17), was given a different tribe of people to lead. They were different in that they were not of God's chosen people. they had been raised differently without faith, and were not brought up in the ways of God. They did not know Godly ways. And, quite frankly, the ones that did know the Godly ways(the Jews) were neglecting and failing at what they had been given. The tribe that Moses and all others that held this priesthood up until Christ were given the proper information and the correct direction from God to lead the Jews. As well, Christ was sent to bring this way to the Jews so that they could get back on track and find their way. When they refused, it was given to us, the Gentiles. With more knowledge there is more responsibility, and the more we know, the more that we are responsible for. So, you see, there was a necessity to change the laws of Moses as they were not made for us, they were made for the Jews. In the teachings of Christ, many of these old ways are reinforced and supported, but in many areas they are replaced. This is why we struggle so when we read the Old Testament. Without understanding of the new covenant and the new testament we will be drawn back into the laws of Moses and completely unable to perform as they instruct. But what we must get out of all of this is that in this scripture and these references is our direction. It proves that we are headed in the right direction by following Jesus Christ. We cannot follow what was not made for us, but we can follow what was made for us. This is Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter what ungodly men try to do to change the word of God it will remain the same and our guidelines and our structure is laid out for us, pure, plain, and simple, in Jesus Christ. Yes, the rules have changed from the laws of Moses. No, this is not an anything goes free for all. This is the pathway to righteousness as God created it for this tribe. A tribe of vagabonds, travelers, foreigners, and anyone else who will believe in Jesus Christ!! We did not come out of Israel, but we have been chosen to create the New Jerusalem, but we must abide under the right leader and follow the one who has been given to us to lead us on into eternity!! This man is Jesus Christ!! High priest for ever after the order of Melchisadec!! He is here to stay, are we???? Have a great day!!!
