Daily Bread 4-4-18

John 11:22

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it to thee.

ref. - Mk 9:23,24 - Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

This was Martha telling Jesus that she knew that he could get God to raise up her Brother, Lazarus. Through her faith in him and Jesus' love for his Father, Lazarus was raised from the dead. If we could just have that faith. But, unfortunately many of us do not have that faith. This is why this reference is here. We, being weak in faith have the opportunity to call on one who does have that faith. The things that we cannot do can be done if we will only believe in the one who came from above. Our faith in Jesus Christ can get our prayers answered of we put them in his hands. This does not give us a free pass as far as faith goes, but as we continue on this journey we will grow in faith as we experience more and more of God's great mercy. This man said he believed, but that he also needed help with his unbelief. So, today, we can lay it all on Jesus and expect all to happen, but it would be better that we seek for more faith and not only accept the great and bountiful mercies that the Lord has to offer us, but also ask him to help us with our unbelief. You see, we receive and then we soon forget the power that it took to help us. We forget how miraculous that the answers of the Lord are and how that no one else could have done what he has done. We need to be instant in prayer rather than trying all other options before we go to him. We need to rely on God more and the world less if we want things of the Lord. Our faith needs to grow each day and our unbelief needs to be left with the world. Our belief needs to remain in Jesus Christ. He will never tire of helping us but he wants us to seek for things of God and then watch as the rest of our needs are supplied for. We need Faith, Hope, and Love. Even though the most important one of these is love, we must have Faith and Hope as well to complete God's will in our lives. So, today, we must pray for God to help our unbelief in Jesus' name, and be ready to be moved! He will hear our prayer and the new man or woman in us will arise in Jesus Christ!!! Have a great day!!!
