Daily Bread 3-28-18

1 Thessalonians 4:8

He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

ref. - Lk 10:16 - He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

1Jn 3:24 - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

A little consolation and a little comfort from the word of God today. If we are following Christ we will be attacked by the enemy at any given time. We will be hated, we will be scorned, and we will be talked about by ungodly men. If we are caught outside of his commandments be sure that the enemy knows it and will try to destroy us quickly. The best thing when caught up in a fault and found outside of the commandments and teachings of Christ, as a Christian, is to repent and get back under the protection of the Spirit of God. But we are in God's will if we remain within the bounds of our habitation. This meaning, under grace and mercy in Jesus Christ. Will we make mistakes? Probably. Will we perish from them? Not if we follow grace and repent. The only way to defeat the enemy is to have the Holy Spirit of God within us. If we are filled with this we still may stumble but the guilt will be so strong that what we have done will fight against our own selves until we have made right with God. Now that we have established what we must be, let us move on to the reward that awaits those who mistreat us and despise us. As a Child of the King we have a Father that will avenge all who come against us. We are told that this is not our job and that we are to remain faithful and follow Christ. God will take care of those who despise. He takes it personally when someone attacks us or speaks against us as they are speaking against his family. Many know how it goes in worldly ways if someone talks against or does something against family. Well, how much more would it go for God when he let his firstborn Son die on a cross so that we would not have to suffer? Take the good news of Christ through your testimony and Holy Ghost preaching to the multitudes, and do not be offended when cast down by ungodly men, they will have their reward. They may think that they have you down, and it may well look like it, but the Spirit that rises up in you is stronger than any hurt feeling or any bad words or anything that is formed against you.

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. Them that have ears to hear, let them hear. Have a great day!!!!
