Daily Bread 3-1-18

The Sermon on the mount(cont'd)

Matthew 6:27-32

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take you thought for the raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

ref. - Ps 23:1 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Ph 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

All that is in this scripture supports what we have been learning in the last few lessons. What we need to take with us on this subject is that we do not need to worry, but follow with our whole hearts that which pertains to God. The reference from Psalms is true; The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Let us make sure that he is our shepherd and that we are not following or learning of another. He takes care of they who are not profitable to him, and if he does that why would our faith lack to the point of thinking that he will not take care of us who have become profitable for him? We are serving him and worshipping him. All of the beautiful things that exist, other than they who follow after Christ, will pass away, and yet he gives them many years on this earth. Whether plant or animal, none of these will be taken into eternity, and he makes them beautiful and allows them to live on his earth. Many to feed and clothe his called and chosen people. In a sense of the word, they are expendable, or replaceable, and yet he lets them exist. We, however, if we follow after Christ and serve God according to his ways and teachings, are not expendable, we are chosen. He knows our needs and he also knows what he has for us. Let us be patient(a gift of God), let us be humble or meek(also a gift from God), let u be loving(yet another gift from God), and let us be found serving him when he comes(an opportunity that we cannot pass up)! Let our lamps be filled with oil! Let us be found on that strait and narrow path that leads to eternity!! That path is Jesus Christ!!! Have a great day!!!
