The Sermon on the mount

Matthew 5:8

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

ref. - Ps 15:1 - Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Jn 3:2,3 - The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

The statutes and commandments that are being given are no more than sound advice that has been given by the Son of God. Whether we believe in him and follow them will determine our own outcome. What he was trying to get through to the Jews was this; The things that Christ was bringing could not be attained through a purchase or through education. They had to be attained by the conversion of one's soul. In order to have the blind eyes opened they must be born again. In order for the heart to be pure, we must be born again. So, today we see that there is no other way to salvation than through repentance and remission of sins, and there is no way to receive that than through Jesus Christ. If we want to see God we must be pure in heart. This purification will not come by our own efforts or our own hand, it is a gift of God. We can see all others receive and we can attend the same services, and we can even worship similar to those who are truly born again, but our Spiritual sight must come from within. The prayer that he is waiting for is an inner groaning that cannot be heard by mortal men(Romans 8:26,27), but only by God. If we really want to see God, rather than live under someone else account and never see him, we must be born again. Everything we need to find him has been given to us in Jesus Christ!!!
