The Sermon on the mount
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
ref. - Isa 61:2,3 - To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance for our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
This world is not our home. In order to be transformed into the spiritual people that Christ is leading us to be we must submit ourselves to his teachings and his Holy Spirit. This scripture says something that should be common sense to the believer. What is often misunderstood is the fact that mourning is something that all in the world will face. This does not mean that we must always mourn, or that we should infrequently mourn as in this life there are going to be things that come our way that cause us to be upset and to mourn. What it means is that we will have a benefit with God that, when we mourn, we will be comforted and our peace will be restored. The things that cause many of this world to be consumed and find no way out will be comforted and we will be relieved of our pain through Jesus Christ. Not that we will never mourn this way again, but that when we do mourn and when we are upset, we can call on God in Jesus' name, and he will show us the way back to peace. This is why the scripture tells us that we are blessed when we mourn. We are not blessed because we mourn, we are blessed because we have the comforter to help us when we mourn. He will make a way, when there is no way! Have a great day!!!
