Daily Bread 12-19-17
Colossians 4:5,6
5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
ref. - Eph 5:15 - See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Mk 9:50 - Salt is good: but if the salt hath lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
1P 3:15 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Our time is short and we must make it count. As saved Christian men and women we must be in a constant search for God's wisdom. Without it we cannot fulfill what God has called us to do. If we want to help others we must depend on another wisdom that is not of this world or it's princes, but of God. To find this we must surrender our hearts and souls to him in Jesus Christ and let him build the temple that is within us. To let our speech be always with grace and salt we must possess,or be possessed by, the Holy Spirit of God or eventually we will falter. When asked why we serve God we must have and be ready to give an answer that will not be filled with haughtiness or pride, but humility and fear. This is why the last reference says to sanctify the Lord God in our hearts. This way when the time arises we will not have to try to remember how we were told to answer or how someone else would do it, we will have it inside ourselves to be able to speak out and help those who are in wonder. There are thousands of people out there that are afraid to ask why we serve God. Whatever their reason is not our issue, but when one does get up the courage and the curiosity to come to us and ask, we must be ready to give them our testimony and the reason that we have this great hope of eternal life! Seek for his Holy spirit more than ever before and eventually it will be given. Obedience and perseverance will get us all in the right graces of the Lord so that we can be a light in a world of darkness and show hope to those who have none! It is not us in God, it is God in us!! Let's first get on our knees and receive what we need from God to make this difference and then let's get out there and show it!!! Have a great day!!!!
