Daily Bread 12-11-17

Romans 8:3-9

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things if the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none if his.

1 Co 2:15 - But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

1 Co 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelt in you?

1P 1:11 - Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

There is a reason that we are not required to live under the law any longer. You see, God has taken a carnal people and is transforming them to Spiritual people. We do not have holiness or righteousness in us from birth, it is something that has to be given of God. This release of the law in Jesus Christ is not a free ticket to sin, it is an opportunity to become the righteous people that we are promised that we can be. But we will not achieve it through acting. It must be in us. This is why if we are being led by the Spirit of God there will be no judgment of man as Spiritual things cannot be judged by carnal men. Now if we are Spiritual, then we are given the information and understanding to judge all things. But let me ask you this, Brothers and Sisters, when you think of your end on this world do you think of death and a funeral or do you think of a rebirth and a resurrection of your souls? Are you afraid of passing into the next life or are you ready? The Word of God says that if we have not the Spirit of Christ we are none of his. So, if we do not receive this Holy Spirit and allow it to work and dwell within us, we will not benefit from anything that Christ brings us. In this we will not be qualified under the law nor will we be saved by grace. It will be a bitter end and death will be our final home. But this is not God's will, nor should it be ours as Christians, to just live out this life on earth and finish the race. Our final rest should come when we are a Spirit dwelling with Christ. It has been prophesied of in the days of old, brought to the earth in Jesus Christ, and left here in our souls by the Holy Spirit. We have been told and are not ignorant so we must seek the transformation and do all that we are capable of doing to receive it. Surrender to the Spirit of Christ today, and the life you lead will no longer be your own, it will belong to God. Eternity awaits!
