Daily Bread 12-4-17

Luke 11:3,4

3 Give us this day our daily bread.

4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

ref. - Mt 6:12,14 - And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you.

Mt 6:13 - And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

What better way to start our day than in the direct instruction that Christ gives us when we pray. If we do not complicate things with fancy words and speeches we can get right down to business and not only realize what we are to pray, but also what others are to pray as well. The instruction is perfect and the direction that we will go if we ask in faith will produce great results. But today, for some reason, we focus on give us this day our daily bread. Lord, give us what we need to feed our souls this morning. And then we are instructed to ask forgiveness for our offenses or sins, as we have forgiven those who have offended us. This is the tough one. To be asking for this forgiveness and not be made a liar in that we have not forgiven those who have offended us. So, you see, there are things that we must begin to the table as well when we ask for help. Christ himself tells us that in order to convince God to forgive us we must have shown a sign of transformation. We must have become at least one bit Christ like in that we are able to forgive others as well. If we can achieve this then we can ask him to keep us so that we are not tempted or led astray. ll the while remaining faithful and protected by our Lord. Our request once we have been fed, been forgiven, and been led to put into practice the ways of Christ, is for God to keep leading us into a better way. His way. And for him to allow us to escape the hands of the enemy who is just waiting to see us slip up. It all seems like good advice because it is perfect advice. It comes from the mouth of God on earth, Jesus Christ. And it is confirmed in the testimonies of those who have become obedient to this type of prayer and this perfect instruction. Won't you learn to pry from the one who is waiting to answer? This, is our daily bread for today!! Have a great day!!!!
