Daily Bread 12-2-17
2 Peter 3:7,8
7 but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Heb 1:11 - They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment.
Ps 90:4 - For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Why does this scripture say that the heavens and earth are reserved unto fire agains the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men? If these so-called modern theologians are correct we do not need to strive to be Godly. We can just go about and remain the same allowing Jesus Christ to take the hit for our repeat failures. This "He died so I can sin" theology and this "You don't have to change, Jesus love you just the way you are" mentality needs to come to an end. And if you are reading this, brothers and sisters, you will be responsible for the understanding that surpasses these ignorant ideas that were drummed up by ungodly men. As the scripture warns us, the time is not tomorrow, it is not next week. The time is now to become a godly man or woman. Time for excuses will have passed and we will be left to burn if we do not learn what Christ wants us to become and accept his guidance and direction. It may be tomorrow or it may be in a thousand years but the fact of the matter is that if we are caught ungodly when judgment does come we will remain and burn. We, today, are so worried about being called devils that we are forgetting that many are devils. Nowhere in the word of God did Jesus sugar coat sin to gain followers. He was very sober and very vigilant about the message that he brought. The wages of sin is death. Too many so called ministers are going around trying to gainsay rather than preach the gospel in hopes that some day "they will come around" when soon the end will be here and they will not have performed what God had called them to do. The hearer will not be responsible for the perdition of the minister but the blood will be on his hands. This is why we have this publication. So that all can hear the truth and also be responsible for it as well. If it cuts, Jesus heals. If it convicts, Jesus forgives. If it shows us where we need to improve, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. If it blesses, Jesus Christ did that! But make no mistake, the time is now to press on into godliness and obedience. Perdition and ungodliness will leave us standing outside of the gate and we will not be laughing and playing while we burn. Godliness is not the picture that man paints, it is the Spiritual transformation that Jesus Christ makes in us if we will only flee from disobedience and ungodliness.
