Daily Bread 11-2-17

Hebrews 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

ref - Jn 1:3 - All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

By faith, in faith, through faith. We hear this throughout the word of God but we still go looking for answers in the world. We have to have proof that something exists so we need to see it or hear it or touch it or feel it or taste it. This is not faith. We go digging for buried treasure where we think that the remnants and things of Christ are buried because we want to prove that he exists to the non believer. We also do this partly for ourselves due to lack of faith. This is not faith. As a matter of fact, we can dig up as many artifacts and remnants of the days of Christ and literally prove to the world that he existed and they will still question who he was and what he can still do for them. So, you see, it is not how we can prove to the world that he exists, or proving to ourselves that he exists, it is how we can believe ourselves in something that we cannot see. Our salvation did not come from seeing something or attaining something, it came from believing in a God that created all and submitting to him. It was not an outer transformation due to proof that was presented to us. It was through an inner transformation. a transformation in a part of us that we cannot even see ourselves, that changed our hearts and gave us redemption. He is the controller of everything and we must believe it. We get so worried about this and about that but we must put our trust in him and know that he will bring us through all that we face. To argue with science about Christ is like kicking rocks. All that gets hurt is our foot and nothing gets done. What we must do is to show our faith that God created everything and still does have control over this world in that he is in control of our attitudes, our decisions, our temperament, our lives in general. If science does not want to continue with us, it is no different than what we are told to do with those who will not accept this gospel, we must shake them off and move on. God created so many people and so many places that have yet to have this wonderful opportunity in faith. Many are still taught to serve God with their hands and feet and mouths rather than in faith from their souls. I guess what the lesson really amounts to today is that we will receive nothing nor can we give anything unless it is in faith. We don't have to see it to believe it. We don't have to taste it to know it is good. We don't have to touch it to realize that it feels good. we just have to believe that all things were created by him, in him, and for him. And we are among that creation! Let us all proclaim without expecting anything in return that, God is good! Have a great day!!!
