Daily Bread 8-26-17

1 Corinthians 13:9

For we know in part, and prophesy in part.

ref. - 1 Co 8:2 - And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

The one thing that will remain is Charity. All of the understanding of men will pass away when we meet him and all worldly knowledge will pass away. All of the ideas, the assumptions, the partial knowledge, will be replaced by the fullness that is in Christ. Our job is to be found in faith and love when he comes. We are to be striving and moving forward in our knowledge of God's will. But one thing that we must all know is that we are aware of very little when it comes to God's will. What we have is probably all that we can handle right at the moment as most cannot even understand the true meaning of charity or love. We still think that love is just a warm fuzzy feeling that we feel when someone is nice to us or when we are attracted to someone or something. But as we grow in Christ, we will also grow in the knowledge of true love. Like the scripture says, when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.(1Co 13:11) As we grow we will also increase in knowledge but even then we will not know all that is to be known. So, as there is very little time to learn and so much to learn we must get on our knees and ask the Lord for understanding to increase and for him to reveal his will through his Spirit through us. This so we can not only help ourselves but be an example to others as well. We see through a dark glass as we are now, but one day we will see things as they are. When that time comes we best be on the right side of God. His will is that none go lost, so let us stay on the straight and narrow path that leads to eternity. That path is Jesus Christ. Have a great day!!!!
