Daily Bread 8-19-17

1 Corinthians 4:11

Even unto this present hour we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place;

ref. - Ac 23:2 - And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

Even though we are doing all we can to serve God the enemy tries to creep in and make us question our faith. Why, if you are serving God, do your loved ones die? Why do you have a hard time making ends meet? Why don't you have all the children that you want? How come so many people do bad things to you? All of these things are seeds that are planted by the enemy to try to get us off course with God. But, fear not, my children, we are not supposed to be too comfortable on this earth for this is not where we truly belong. The fantasy that some gainsayers and deceivers preach today that we will never be broke or never have problems, is just that; gainsaying. Someone is telling us that we will never have to endure the things of this world, but in truth we will have to face all these problems, and sometimes even worse. But what seems worse to worldly people is just a molehill when we have the same Spirit that carried Christ through it all. It is not that we will not face these things, it is that we have a different solution to them. What fits in the life of worldly people does not fit in the life of a Spiritual man. This is why we can endure through a lot of things that destroy others. Do not expect the world or it's princes to accept the way that Christ leads us, nor should we expect them to believe the way that we endure. This is something that they must be convinced to experience for themselves. Meanwhile, we must understand that in order to live in this world we must endure through many things that are deemed unfair or harsh. What we must do is take a look at ourselves and say, "how did I handle this differently than I would have before I met Jesus?" If we are truly living for him we will realize that our actions and reactions are absolutely the opposite than what we would have done and how we would have acted or reacted before. And this is why we made it through these hardships, temptations, and trials. There is one who endured and suffered all things the world had to offer, and his name is Jesus Christ. Make an honest effort to seek for the things that he has brought us in his gospel and you, too, will see a big difference in your life. It will not be that the trials and tribulations don't come your way because they will. It is not the coming of these things but the outcome of them that will be changed. Instead of receiving permanent damage that we cannot overcome, we will persevere through these things to the point that they are no longer mountains for us as we have cast them out of the way, in Jesus' name! This, my brothers and sisters, is the will of God and the way of Christ, and it is for us to receive!! Have a great day!!!
