Daily Bread 8-18-17

Ephesians 3:5,6

5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

6 That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

ref. - Gal 3:14 - That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The day that Paul entered into Ephesus was a day that changed it forever. An understanding and also performance of God's will had been given to the people. Not through his own works or his own greatness, but through the Holy Spirit of God. Before this, men had only stood in front of the people and read them a set of rules, But what God was doing through Paul with the gospel of Christ was allowing the people, Gentiles, Jews, Greeks, all people, to seek after something that put the rules within them. He was given a gift to explain the wisdom and mysteries of God in Jesus Christ. Not only this wisdom but also a way that the people should achieve the same things and the same understanding that was given the apostles and prophets; the baptism of the Holy Spirit. You see it was no longer about having rulers in high places, there was one ruler and he was, and had always been, in a high place. Jesus Christ, as according to the gospel, has been put in rule forever. He explained that each who has been called is no more important than the other and that the more that is given a man, the less he will be esteemed. This being because he will instruct the people away from man and towards Christ. One of the mysteries revealed is that the higher that a man gets in Christ, the less that he is acknowledged by men. Worldly understanding has no place in the Kingdom of God. And this Spiritual understanding has now been offered to those who will surrender their souls and submit to the gospel that has been given. These partakers of the Spirit of God will not only be given their place and calling on earth, but also partakers of his promise by Christ, eternal life. Something that had never been offered or given is now available if we can only stay within the gospel that has been given to us. Just as Paul brought a clean, holy gospel to the Ephesians, we are also brought the same gospel in the word of God and through the same Holy Spirit that used Paul and has entered the hearts and souls of millions of men and women who have walked in faith. It is now our time to receive these gifts and this understanding. But we must walk in faith, knowing that this is the gospel and direction that we have been born into and led unto. The gospel has not changed nor has the true word of God. And as for God's will? It will never change. He loves us, he created us, and we are alive this very day to serve him in understanding and truth through his Son, Jesus Christ, and his Holy Spirit. We are fortunate, we are called, we are loved, now what will we do with it? A wise man seeks for wisdom, a foolish man flees from it. All wisdom that pertains to our existence is contained in one thing; The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Time to pursue what has already been promised. Have a great day!!!
