Daily Bread 8-15-17

1 Corinthians 4:17

For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every Church.

ref. - 1 Ti 1:2 - Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Apostle Paul had just stated to the people that they had many men who could instruct them but few who loved them as a Father. He had also told them to follow him as he knew what type of care and love that he had for them and he also knew that what he represented was a clean, righteous gospel as given by God. He even went so far as to send one of his closest disciples with them to keep them on track as to what had been taught and what was sound doctrine that was supported by the Churches of God that were established through the Holy Ghost by Paul. Timothy was a very useful and profitable servant in that he had learned the gospel and been filled with the Holy Ghost so that he could represent, without fault, the pure gospel that Paul had brought to the Corinthians. He was there to reprove them, remind them, and sometimes rebuke them to keep them in the boundaries that they had been put by the gospel. These bonds being to live a life that was pleasing to God, searching to improve and become closer to Christ each day. Today, we have leadership that governs the Church and brings a clean, holy, righteous doctrine to each of those souls who will receive it. Though they cannot be with all of the people all of the time, make no doubts about it, they love each Church and the people in it with the love of a Father. They are in line with the gospel in that they also leave a minister in each location to remind, reprove, and even sometimes rebuke the people so that they may stay on a straight and narrow path that leads only to the approval and honor of God through Jesus Christ. This is why it is necessary for these leaders to come together for a time so that they can learn and confirm what this gospel is and what the Church stands for. This is why we have a September convention. It is primarily for the ministers and their deacons. (As we know through the scripture, their wives as well should attend as there are also requirements and qualifications for them), but it is also a great opportunity for all others to come and attend a service and solidify their beliefs and what the Church truly represents. This is a very good way not only to draw closer to God but also to hold some of our ministers who get off track accountable for what they have learned. Our prayer is that not one go astray, but just as Paul left Timothy with the Corinthians, we have leadership that will stand for the word of God and remind some of what they have been called to and who they have been called to. It is not a direct attack on their person, but a reminder of what the Church represents and who they have signed on to represent as well. There is no contract that binds anyone to remain in a service that they no longer believe in and it is highly encouraged that if someone does not believe any longer in the establishment which they represent that they first come to September meetings and sit and listen to the word of God. Having faith and patience(which also are gifts of the Spirit of God) that just as God sent Christ and Christ sent Paul and Paul sent Timothy, so will God provide a message and a messenger that will either confirm or convict them of their disbelief. Then they may decide whether to continue on in the grace of God in the Church or to go their own direction. What they must understand is that if they do not continue on that nothing of the Church is any of theirs. This stands also for those of all congregations who have questions or unbelief in the Church Of God Of The Firstborn and the Holy Christ that it represents. Come to Newton Kansas from Sept. 10 through Sept. 30 and sit and listen as the word of God is expounded and explained through the Holy Ghost and receive your answers. Take part in the Church functions and use the altar calls to draw closer to God. Come ready to learn and improve on what God has already given you and you will leave with more. Receive the gifts of God through understanding and perseverance in what the word of God teaches as just as Christ was risen from out among the people, so will the future leaders of the Church. God has a calling for each and every one of you. But you must first understand what is being taught and receive the gifts from God. What we must all know is that Christ not only died for each of us, he also gave his life for this Church so that it may be established and continue in a clean sound doctrine that is taught only through the Holy Ghost and remains in Christ. We must also know that we are loved by God, His Son, and the Holy Ghost, as well as The Church Of God Of The Firstborn. It is a time of growth, it is a time of gifts, it is a time of heavenly calling.
