Matthew 12:35-37
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give an account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
ref.- Eph 5:4 - Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
Today we have to face the scripture in honesty and in truth. Who of us has not offended in one point when it comes to this? Truth be told, there are very few that do not fall short when it comes to this subject. We need help. A help that only can come from someone who was never caught up in it and did not partake. Jesus Christ was instructing and also rebuking the Pharisees and Scribes that they needed to watch their discussions and the direction of their conversation. These were men that were in the Church that refused to accept the gospel that Christ was bringing and were plotting to remove him from their presence and cast him out of the synagogue. They had no idea the power that they would face and that each time they said or did anything that it added to the power and also confirmed the identity of who Christ was. He assured them that, although he would not judge them, one day all that they were doing and saying would be held against them when they faced judgment. They did not take Christ seriously, and they thought themselves more powerful than the Son of God. They had no idea who they were dealing with as their fear of God and gone away. His examples, his words, his life, and his gospel only confirmed and supported everything they had ever been taught, but they would not see it. This being because the gospel that Christ brought was going to bring about a great change and would also supersede many of the things that they had sworn to. So, rather than following, they gathered together and made light of Christ and plotted to destroy him. Now, the negative, backbiting, double tongued will say, "we are not dealing with Christ, we are dealing with man, and we don't serve man." Did this just cross your mind? If so, read on, and get some help. What we all need to consider is that when these conversations and foolishness are taking place, are we a part of it, or will we defend this gospel and those whom God has put in positions of authority? We need to look out for our own souls and this scripture proves to us that God is not watching others when it comes to us. He is watching each individual soul. So, take this with a grain of salt and keep on doing what the Scribes and Pharisees were rebuked for, or read it in fear and ask God to change your heart and direction so that you, too, can be accepted in when judgment comes. Jesus Christ is there to help you and to give you the strength to overcome the evil that so easily has beset the world. This is God's will and it is for us all if we will just be transformed into the Spiritual beings that God made us to be. Pray, pray more, then pray again. Only God can change the heart of man. Have a great day!!!
