Daily Bread 8-8-17

Luke 13:24,25

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know not whence ye are:

ref. - Lk 6:46 - And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Mt 7:23 - And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

So, it is necessary for us to make an effort in obedience toward him! Contrary to the false teachings and man made doctrine that is being passed off as Christianity, there is still a call to obedience. How interesting that all things that are taught through the Holy Ghost are confirmed in the word of God but the things that are manufactured and the stories are brought to nothing in the very same word. What a mighty God we serve, that he knew thousands of years ago that we would be in need of this scripture this very day! As devout followers of God in Jesus Christ we are once again freshened up and reminded that we are not to coast or glide, but to strive to enter in. This means to work at it diligently and with purpose. We are also promised that if we are not caught making an effort to serve him in righteousness and obedience that we will not make it into the gate when we arrive. We will be turned away as strangers no matter what we have done or accomplished in our lives. It is not about what we have done, it is about what we are doing when he comes. Yes, our accomplishments are acknowledged and the reward is kept in store for us, but we must also endure to the end to see the true fruit of our actions. So let us be serious today and sober when we receive this warning. One day Christ will come again, and he will close the door to redemption and forgiveness. The wrath of God will come down upon the earth. If we are not in line with the gospel that we have been given which was confirmed and fulfilled by Jesus Christ, we will be outside of the gate when it closes. There will be thousands upon thousands outside of that gate begging and pleading. Wearing their Sunday best when their souls are soiled, bragging upon all of their past accomplishments and what they have done, but not continuing so, therefore, they will not get in. The goal of this scripture is not to cast us into eternal darkness but to lift us up into the light. It is to remind us that we must be serious about how we are living our lives and what is inside our souls. Today, is there hate in your soul? Perversion? false doctrine? heresy? What is it children, that keeps you from being within the gates and protection of Jesus Christ? Today, while it is still called today, choose which God you will serve, which path you will follow. Will it be the path of the world that leads to destruction, or will it be the strait and narrow path that leads to eternal life in Jesus Christ? The choice is yours and it is only a prayer away. You know the truth and you know God's will is for you to strive to enter in at the strait gate. Best to get in line behind Christ and stay there. Have a great day!!!
