Daily Bread 8-2-17

Isaiah 60:1-3

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and the kings to the brightness of thy rising.

ref. - Mal 4:2 - But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Rev 21:24 - And the nations of them that are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

As the world falls further and further away from God, there will be a people that draw ever closer and closer to Him. What once belonged to someone else has been lent to a people who never saw it coming. These were a people who had no hope, and were desolate spiritually as the ways of God had never been offered to them. These people, today, make up a vast majority of all living, breathing, human beings on this earth. In this scripture Isaiah was calling on the messiah, Jesus Christ, to come and take what was his. His prophecy stated and confirmed that Christ would rise up and be noticed among all people. That when the world looked out and saw no hope, there would be a light to all people that would provide us with hope. It was written and prophecied about then, and it came to pass that Christ did arise. He did shine, and he was finally lifted up in that he was acknowledged to be the Son of God. Not only did many of his own people come and follow him, but others have been drawn to him as well. He offers us a "light at the end of the tunnel" , so to speak. Let us put it this way, there is a slogan about gun control, law enforcement, and God that says this; Today you want to ban guns, take away the power of law enforcement, and get rid of God in this country. But when you are in trouble, they are the first three things you will wish you had. Now, we are not here to debate gun control and law enforcement. But we must realize that most leaders of countries call on God for their strength and protection. We also must realize that millions of people from many different backgrounds, races, and colors, have found that the light that they need to instill hope in them comes from Jesus Christ. Where there is no salvation, Jesus saves. Where there is no healing, Jesus heals. Where there is no protection, Jesus watches over them that are his. Where there is no hope, Jesus promises us a brighter day. Where it is said there is no perfection, Jesus says we can do all things in his name. So, you see, this light has come upon all people and when we say all people we mean ALL people. There is nary a person on this earth that a has not heard of this wonderful savior but there are few that really know his power. He has been given power over the things above the earth, on the earth, and the things even below it. This savior has arisen and it is now time for us to rise up with him! In the true fear of God and the examples of his power, jealousy, and judgment, we need to fall down on our knees and beg this savior for the salvation that is given to those who humble themselves. It is time to truly surrender, not with our mouths but our souls, to his authority. It will be then that we will have that light shining within us and we will walk with a different attitude, a different direction, and a different purpose. There is not hope for this world, but there is hope for every knee that bows to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Jesus does save and he will be a rewarder of those who diligently seek him! Won't you come to him today? He's waiting...... Have a great day!!
