Daily Bread 7-31-17

Romans 13:11

And knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

ref. - 1 Co 15:34 - Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

In Isaiah 56 there is a chapter filled with prophesy. It tells of a group of outcasts that would be given a special place in heaven because the ones that had been given the gifts were just laying down and not doing their jobs. This text goes on to say that they are greedy dogs that can never have enough only looking out for their own gain. They lack understanding , but worse off they don't care, as long as they have what they want. This is where we came from. We were those outcasts that he was speaking of and were promised a place within the walls of the kingdom of God. The opportunity to serve God in Jesus Christ. But now as we read later, about 750 years later, these strangers(we) have been given a chance. Prophecy has been fulfilled. And this is our time people! It is time for us to allow God to enlighten us with his will and to serve Him. We have been given a great opportunity to please God and we have been given an advocate to help us along the way. This advocate being Jesus Christ! We have been given a limited time and we mustn't let ourselves become complacent or satisfied. We must be content with what God has given us but not content with what we have done with it. Rather than conforming to the world and accepting that we can't do this or that we'll never be as good as this one or that one, we must rather put on the positive attitude and accept the positive Spirit that is in Jesus Christ. We must realize that when Paul was telling the people in Phillipi "I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me," he was also speaking to us today! This living breathing gospel is still alive as is the one who inspired it! If the word of God says that our salvation is closer than we think, we had better buckle down and knuckle down and find the way to be clean when he comes for us! Whether it be by death from this earth or Christ coming again we must be ready! So, get up Brothers! Get up Sisters! Awake to righteousness, and sin not! Righteousness dwells within the Holy Spirit and we find the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ! What? You're going to wait? There is no time to wait! The word of God says now is the time to awake out of our sleep! Time to rise up out of the bondage of ignorance and seek for understanding! Time to pray like never before for God to intervene in our lives and to put in us a clean heart. One that is capable of leaving sin behind and passing on to a land where the joy shall never end! We are here at the right time and now is the time!!! Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you!!! Have a great day!!!
