Daily Bread 7-18-17
1 Peter 5:2-4
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fated not away.
ref. - Jn 21:15 - So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, loves thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knows that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs.
Ps 74:2 - Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
Heb 13:20 - Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.
Today, as always, the word of God is very clear and it will speak to those of you who have ears to listen. Many will not even read or try to comprehend this as you are already out of the way. But to those of you who will read this and either be transformed or change your ways, there is still hope. To some it will support and deliver promise and for that there is always praise to God. But somewhere along the way for many of you, Church became a career, a place to raise your family, or a source of income. Some have even resorted to stealing from the Church in your blindness. Many good souls were left behind simply because they had nothing to offer you carnally or financially. But the word of God stands sure and reminds ministers that no matter what level of service or calling that God has given you, that you should never forget the Church or the people in it. As this is the main core of your inheritance. If you have the love in your heart for Christ that you claim to have, then receive the instruction that Peter received and feed the flock. Not because you have to, or for the income, but because the love of Christ is in your heart. All other things will come if you are in line with your calling. Not backbiting or double tongued toward the authority of the Church, but supporting and backing the Church and it's established and called government. This, Brothers, is the only way that Christ will accept you when he comes again. If this is not in you right now, Brothers, it is strongly urged that you come to Newton Kansas for the twenty one days of convention with an open and ready mind to seek more form God and allow him to purge you from unrighteousness and the worldly ways that have taken you off track. There is one who will save you and one who can also damn you, and his teaching and his Spirit will be the guide that is necessary to receive that crown of glory that has been promised to those who serve him in verity and truth. Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.
