Daily Bread 7-6-17
Romans 2:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
ref. - Dt 32:35 - To me belongeth vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.
Today we are once again reminded to leave the things of God in his hands. He will take care of them. As we are instructed throughout this gospel we will find that if we want to hang onto the world it is going to be a long hard ride. As we grow more and more into God's Spiritual creation we will have to let go of the world. Well, the enemy that runs worldly things does not like it when a soul is taken from him. So he sends many things our way and tries to convince us to return to the sin and destruction that we came from. He sends us battles that without God we cannot win. He tries to get us to revisit the "old man" that we have left behind when Christ entered our lives. One of his easiest tools is to make us angry enough to strike back. Doesn't matter who or what, he sends someone or something to get us so mad that we want to carry out evil acts upon others. Resist this temptation in the name of Jesus Christ brothers, and it will flee. Our tempers will get us into a realm that does not belong to us. The world tells us if we are mad at someone to strike back. The word of God says to endure what the world has to throw at us and let God take care of it. The hardest thing in anyones life is to tame their tongue but the word of God says that, with the help of his Spirit, we should hold our tongues. Do not strike back. Go on being a Christian and annoying the enemy further. To do good to the enemy rather than stepping into his realm makes him even more angry so be ready. Be prayed up and put on the full armor of God. In the instance of revenge and wrath, put on his armor so that we do not have to try to use our own. If we lean upon our own we will go away beaten and destroyed. Vengeance is God's, and when he carries it out there will be many mouths stopped and the enemy will have no other choice than to flee. Whatever the world and its pawns throw at us, we must endure it for a season and find out that when that season is over we will be the only ones left standing. Standing on a solid rock that is Jesus Christ. What God has for us is peace and love, not war. What we need to do is try it without doubting and continue to carry out good works even when it seems the world is against us. Truth be told, it is against us. But we are not of the world, we are of the most hight God and our true dwelling place is not on this rock called earth, it is in eternity with him!! Let's let him take care of what's his, and that is this who follow Christ!!! He will not be defeated!! Have a great day!!!
