Daily Bread 6-12-17

1 Timothy 1:9,10

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for purjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Gal 3:19 - Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the need should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator

So today we see that the law is not for those who are innocent, but those who choose to remain disobedient. If we seek to destroy, to maim, to hurt those who follow Christ, we will ever be under conviction of the word of God. Even after Christ walked the earth the law was still in effect. How we were to become obedient to it was changed. Instead of ever striving to “not do this” or to “do that” within the power of our own will, we have been given a different opportunity. Does this make us exempt from the commandments that we have been given? No, it does not. What it does is give us the opportunity to have our way of thinking and believing turned around from inside so that obedience to the gospel is not so hard to achieve. You see, the rules and commands have been put in order, we just are not capable of becoming obedient to them. That is, without Christ we can’t. But in Christ we can be transformed! Transformed from the carnal man who struggled around every turn to serve God, to the holy man who has submitted to Christ and allowed the Spirit of God to enter our souls and to be tranformed. We no longer have the need or urge to serve sin as we have tasted something that is much sweeter! We no longer fall at every temptation because what used to be temptation to us is no more! It still exists(temptations), but no longer has power over us! We have been given a chance to overcome in Christ! When the word of God says to say to a mountain to be moved and it shall move, it means that what used to seem to be a mountain no longer is even a bump in the road for us! The mountains are still there, but we have overcome them and they are no longer in our paths! So, today, if we are thinking that there is no way to become holy,no way to live righteous, no way to have an easy time of serving God, I urge you to read of how Christ overcame and how he has tight us to overcome as well. It is all inside of us if Christ is inside of us. All we have to do is have faith and believe, the miracles are not far away!! Have a great day!!!
