Daily Bread 6-9-17

Matthew 24:44-51

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 And shall begin to smite his fellow-servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

ref. - Mt 25:34 - Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Mt 25:30 - And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Lk 12:46 - The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

We must always be watchful and ready Brothers and Sisters. No time to let our guards down. Just when we try to relapse back into the world our time will come and we will miss out on everything. This scripture was not written to threaten or to cast fear(though it should), but it was written for our learning. There are so many that are on fire in the beginning and then slowly relax and live some kind of life that resembles a bit of salvation with a bit of damnation and this is not how it should be. We were created to live clean and holy lives, ever striving to become more and more obedient to the gospel and the scriptures that were written for us. Once again, the soldiers relax when the generals relax. This scripture is talking to all of us when it says that we put down our responsibilities and start to run with the pigs and dogs again. We still put on the hypocritical show as holy men and women but when not in the eye of the brethren we take the advice and direction of the pigs and dogs. Beware, brothers and sisters, this is when he will come for us. When the word of God says that he will come without warning it is a promise. Who are God's faithful and wise servants that the lord has made ruler over his household? To give them meat in due season? The Preachers, that's who. Although nary a preacher even reads this devotional or these writings it is time that we, the believers not stand in darkness any longer. It is time for us to seek out the gifts of God as the ones who are sleeping will soon lose everything that they thought they had. When our time comes we need to get ready with Spiritual gifts and godly, obedient testimonies, so that when he comes we are waiting and ready to go. Wherever he leads us, diligent, faithful, holy, responsible, dependable, men and women of God who will stand up for the things of God and the Church. I tell you, Brothers and Sister, the axe is not far from the tree in any of us and we will either be spared because we are fruitful or we will be hewn down and cast into the fire. Today would you stand with God or with the hypocrite? If judged not by man but God where would you be cast? Would you be given more, or have all that you have taken away? The disobedient Spirit in hypocritical man says that he is right and every one else is wrong, standing against the Church, it's leadership, and those who support it. But this is not about social clubs and gathering lynch mobs of unbelievers, it is about our souls. What if he came for us today? Not with death, but maybe opportunity to do something for him. What if a Church opened up and there was need for a minister? Being called and being ready are two different things. There are many called men who have not prepared themselves, always thinking that their time will come when it is convenient and not preparing themselves. Then when their time comes the man behind them or even from out of the doors of the Church is called in and given that which all others were unprepared for. So take heed today Brothers and Sisters, it is time to be prepared for whatever God will allow us to prepare for. Become faithful to God and the Church in Jesus Christ. Obedience is better than sacrifice but sometimes both are necessary in preparation. Are your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, or are you waiting for someone to come and put them on for you? Women, if you feel like God has called you to something, and you cannot remain alone, seek for a Godly man to lead you. Not to follow you, but to lead you, as you were not called nor created to be the leader of man as according to the scripture. This scripture goes for all who follow Christ. There is something in it for everyone, and now is the time to make it count for Christ! You have been born unto this world, a prisoner of sin, set free by the one who died for you, now serve him and be ready when he comes!! The benefits are everlasting but so are the punishments. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear. Have a great day!!!
