Daily Bread 5-13-17

Galatians 3:3-5

3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.

5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worth miracles among you, doth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

ref. - Gal 4:9 - But now after ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Heb 7:16 - Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

2 Cor 3:8 - How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

When we first stood up from that altar, or wherever we received our salvation, we recall the inner peace and the change that God had made in our souls. We knew that there was nothing we had ever tried or did that had ever created that feeling. No matter how hard we tried to "follow the rules" or better our lives there still was no feeling like when the Spirit of God reached out and touched us with salvation through Jesus Christ. As we grew and God worked in us, we became stronger in faith and God was able to work many miracles in our lives for the world to see. Not in perfection of the flesh but in perfection of the Spirit. After all, it is what is inside of us that drives what goes on on the outside of us. But somewhere along the way we took on the same faults that the Galatians suffered from. We took the wrong advice from those who didn't want to lose control of our lives. They knew that we had been given something they did not possess and instead of receiving it themselves, they cling to the traditions and rituals that they knew. We started listening again to carnal people who were not living in the Spiritual realm, even taking the advice of sinners that knew absolutely nothing of the Spirit of God. We started listening to those whom we had already "passed up" on the way to fulfill our calling. Not that we were more important or more intelligent but that God had gifted us with Spiritual gifts. If we look at those who God has chosen in leadership they dwell in the Spiritual and not in the actions of carnal service. They do not tell us that physical action or anything of our own carnal efforts will change us. They tell us that only faith in Jesus Christ can change us. They tell us that we cannot change what is inside of us, only God can, and that we can only receive what God has for us through Jesus Christ. They perform miracles because the Spirit of God works in them and through them. And they let his Spirit have full control. Not claiming to be perfect but thanking God around every bend for staying with them and allowing them to take part in such a great work. So, today the same message is being handed to us in this message. If you want change and you want to be successful at pleasing God, do not step back into serving him carnally. Do not be misled into thinking that physical action can cause Spiritual change. No matter how hard you sing, cry, moan or wail, it is your heart and soul he is listening to. The rest is just what you have learned from carnal people. Step forward into the Spiritual realm that only Jesus Christ can take you. Pray fervently and often, giving thanks to God for every situation and for his mercy. Let him know that without him you can do nothing. Ask him to let his will be done, for his desires and wants for our lives to be carried out in you. And then wait on him and pray that you will always be satisfied with the answers and direction that he has given you. Pray that he will put forgiveness in your heart just as he has forgiven you. And watch as he makes a change and a miracle in you! Man can only take you to Christ, but for you to truly experience what God has for you, Christ needs to take you the rest of the way!! Spiritual life is eternal life!! Seek for the Spirit today and never turn back!!! Have a great day!!!!
