Daily Bread 5-1-17
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In who all the building fitly framed together growth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
ref. - Mt 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
1Cor 12:28 - And God hath set some in the Church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Mt 21:42 - Jesus said unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
Jn 17:23 - I in them, and thou in me, that they be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
What once was not ours now has become our lives. If we believe and are saved there is great peace and consolation in knowing that we not only have access to God through Jesus Christ but that we do not have to go searching for him. He created us so that his Spirit can dwell within us. Many think that believing and attending Church is enough, that their needs will be fulfilled and their prayers will be answered. But that is just a small part of what God has for us if we truly believe in him. He doesn't want us to just go it alone. He wants us to be together, working together in his Church using all of the gifts he has given us to further the Gospel. Most importantly he wants to dwell within each if us with his Spirit. You see, it is one thing to work together and to create in our bodies a temple, living clean and holy and striving for perfection in Him, but we must move one step further. We were also created for God to not only be part of our lives, but to control our lives and dwell within us. His Holy Spirit is the key that unlocks all the doors for us to not only strive for, but to achieve, the things he has created us for. Not every one is going to be given the same gifts or responsibilities, but each one is given what they are capable of achieving. Fit together and all working, we will see not only the miracles of God but as well the speaking of tongues, the order of the Church, and we will also see perfection. Not in man's eyes as man's eyes does not see Christ or his people as perfection. But in God's eyes we are perfect when we are in line with what he has created us for and if we are where he created us to be. We were created for Jesus Christ and he created us to be in Jesus Christ and he in us. So, today we must again press away from the world and toward the Spirit of God. It is all possible if we just surrender all!!!! Have a great day!!!!
