Daily Bread 4-18-17
2 Timothy 4:6-8
6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
ref. - Rev 2:10 - Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you in prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
The Apostle Paul was a very good example of a faithful man. After he was enlightened and given his Spiritual sight in Damascus he was given the gift of faith in God through Jesus Christ. He had always had faith in God what he was taught, but after Damascus he became loyal and faithful to the Gospel of Christ. He went through so many things in his life but in whatever circumstance, remained faithful and praised God in all situations. He endured to the end because he was not looking at what he could achieve or receive on this earth, he was looking for the righteous crown of everlasting life. Today, we need to pray to God that we, too, may also receive this gift so that we can look a little further down the road for our reward. Most are consumed with the cares of this world and them that dwell in it while neglecting the gift that has been offered and promised to them. Everlasting life. Don't let this happen to you Brothers and Sisters. Pray for the strength and the perseverence that it is going to take to endure through all that the princes of this world throw at you. Pray for the patience to endure to the end, always faithful to what Christ has given you. Pray for God to reveal your calling and to give you the tools needed to fulfill it. Pray always. Siempre Orad. In this we will find the way to, one day, be able to speak in the same way that Paul did in this scripture. With confidence, eagerly awaiting the coming of our Lord and not scared or wondering what will happen when he comes. We should be living in a way that when he comes we run toward him and not hide from him. All this will come through prayer, patience and faith! Don't you want to be able to repeat these verses and have them pertain to you?? You can do anything in Jesus Christ!!! Have a great day!!!
