Daily Bread 4-10-17

1 John 4:4-6

4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

ref. - Jn 12:31 - Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Jn 3:31 - He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of this earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

Jn 15:19 - If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Jn 8:47 - He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

1Cor 14:37 - If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

Isa 8:20 - To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

What a great privilege to be called sons of God! In order to be chosen, though, we had to let God in and let him have control of our souls. There are many out in the world that say they are of God but cling to the world and it's ways. But if we are of God, we are not them. God is stronger than any force, any addiction, any tradition, any human being alive or dead, this is why we have the power in the name of Jesus to overcome and live lives that are pleasing to God. What we must understand, though, is that the closer we get to God and the more spiritual we become, the less the world will have to offer us. You see, the world doesn't like it when we are not dependent on it as this is the only stronghold that the enemy has. Many will claim to be Godly believers but when faced with the commandments and the word of God they will go another direction and will not repent. They cling to the worldly statutes and men's advice while leaving the commandments of the word of God in the shadows. Today, we must all ask ourselves this; Are we chosen? Does God hear us? No, not because some gainsayer says he hears us, but does he really hear us?And do we hear him? Do we really know what God's will is in our lives? If we cannot confirm these things within ourselves it is time to come to repentance, a Godly repentance. Not worldly with fake tears and loud sobbing, no, Godly repentance. A repentance from our souls that confesses our faults and pleads for forgiveness that we have turned our back on the way that the God wants us to live and opened ourselves to the world. There is still time while we have one breath left on this earth to come to Jesus and not only be called, but be chosen as well. Once there is a connection with God through Jesus Christ, we must then disconnect with the world and it's princes and connect with what is taught and commanded in the word of God. Many have done it and we are content living with what God provides, in carnal fashion, but mostly spiritually. It is time to draw close enough to God that we can tell the difference between earthly teaching and spiritual enlightenment. It is time to understand that we are children of God , not princes of the earth. Let us join together with Christ in a way that confesses in our souls that we are truly the adopted sons and daughters of the King! As the world hates us let us dwell on the love of Christ and our love for one another as we get closer every day to the resurrection of our souls! Let us hear Him as he speaks! Let us know that he hears us when we speak! And let us understand that, in the world there is hatred and destruction ending in death, in Christ there is love and peace that never ends and continues on into eternal life!!! Make your choice today and live!!! Have a great day!!!
