Daily Bread 3-13-17

Titus 3:8

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

It is not only about cleaning our life, it is also about keeping it clean. It is not only about having a desire to good and doing it, it is also about maintaining these good works. Many start out on a good path but as soon as they receive some recognition or as soon as something goes right they become idle. Relying and depending on the reward of their past accomplishments to get them through. Whether they go idle or return to evil works, it does not matter because either way they are going against what God put in front of them, the gospel of Jesus Christ. No, we, as Christian believers, must be careful what we say and what we do. Yes, there is repentance if we make a mistake, but God knows what is in our hearts and if it was truly mistake or not. These good works are not only beneficial to men but they also show God that we are making an honest effort to become the person that he wants us to be. In this scripture it says that these things are good and profitable unto all men. This says that there is not one man that will benefit from evil, it pertains to all men. Not only this but it also means that if we believers maintain our good works and do not grow weary that those around us will benefit from it as well. There is nothing in this world that we can become that is better than becoming a good example in the ways of Christ. Let us help ourselves and those around us to not only start in good works but to be careful to maintain them. Take care of the good that we have done and continue to press further in the well doing and ways of the Lord. Have a great day!!!
