Daily Bread 2-24-17

James 4:17

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin.

ref. - Lk 12:47 - And that servant, which knew his Lord's will, and prepared not himself neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Today we must hold ourselves accountable for our own actions. It is easy to look on others with wrath and overlook ourselves, but we do not know the state of someone else's soul. We are primarily in charge of our own souls. This is not speaking of ministers who shall give account for many souls as they minister, personally and before their profession they are supposed to already be partakers of the first fruit. No, this is pertaining to each individual looking into our own souls and seeking to enter into God's will. Not only to enter in but to remain in it. You see, it is not the ones who are ignorant of God's will and transgress that will pay the price, for there is no shame in what they do. They cannot feel ashamed for something that they didn't know was wrong. But to those who have been enlightened and know the difference, but still choose to go away from God's will, they will not rest easily. Knowing that we have done something to offend our God will not go unpunished. It may not come in carnal punishment or to be viewed by many, but it will tear us up inside until we have made it right and gotten back on the path of God's will. Carnal people watch for bad things to happen to people on this earth but there is no worse of a torment or stripe than to try to exist with a conscience that will not allow peace to a Spiritual soul. So, then, it read this scripture we mustn't worry about the things that can occur on the outside if we willingly stepped outside of God's will, but we must worry about the turmoil and punishment that will come internally. This is far worse than anything anyone can do to us on this earth and will not end when we leave this world but will continue on with us into whatever side of eternity we end up on. So let us strive to enter in at the strait gate, not wavering, but learning the will of God through the Holy Spirit and purposing ourselves to stay in it. Knowing to do good, and choosing to do it, rather than leaning back into the world and it's many other pathways. The only way to do this is in Jesus Christ! Have a great day!!!
