Daily Bread 2-22-17
2 Peter 1:20,21
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
ref. - Ro 12:6 - Having then gifts different according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.
2 Tim 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
1P 1:11 - Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow.
2 S 23:2 - The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue.
Lk 1:70 - As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began.
In the word of God there is nothing that has not been inspired by God. These men did not go to school to learn another man's perspective on the will of God, they were given it by God. These gifts were given to men who believed and were given only in proportion of what they believed. Not all men had the same level of prophecy because they did not have the same level of faith. This did not make one more important than the other, it was God's will. Their information did not come from study or opinion, but from God. The reason why the Church is in such a mess today is because too many are leaning unto man's understanding instead of receiving the gift from God. This is the way that the world is going but we mustn't follow after the world or our outcome will be the same as the world. We can rely on other books and opinions that are not written but if we really want the truth, unaltered, and pure, we must get our information from the word of God. If we want to understand the word of God we must either be taught by someone filled with he Holy Ghost and given the gift of prophesy, or strive to receive it ourselves. The end goal and the will of God is that we all receive our own understanding so that we cannot only hear the word but confirm it as well. We know that the word of God is true and that there is no falsehoods in it so why would we not be seeking after the same gifts that had been given to men in the time of it's writing? The Bible tells us that Jesus christ has these gifts to give out and has and is giving them out as people allow themselves to be transformed in to Spiritual creatures. So let us pray like never before, let us seek without faltering, and let us attain, one at a time or severally as God's will, the gifts that will not only lead us to eternal life but those who are around us as well!! There are still prophets among us receiving their information through the Spirit of God and there are more to come, until Christ comes again!!! Thank God for The Church Of God Of The Firstborn!!
