Daily Bread 2-20-17

Romans 7:4-6

4 Wherefore my brethren,ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

ref. - Ro 6:14 - For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Gal 2:19 - For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

2 Co 11:2 - For I am jealous over you with Godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you a chaste virgin to Christ.

Ro 6:21 - What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Gal 5:19,21 - Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal 2:19,20 - For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

It is when we realize that we are no longer living for this world but for God that we can attain the same Spirit, mind, and soul, that Paul speaks of in this scripture. He is confirming that it is not just for he and his men, but for all, to attain the perseverance and dedication to allow God to truly change them into followers of Christ. Today we have thousands, if not millions, of people who go about claiming to follow and believe in Christ either completely free from any kind of discipline or restraint, or they who claim Christianity but when things come about that pertain to them they turn back unto the law. I am not speaking about the carnal law of the land, but the laws of Moses, which in many ways, pertains to many of the same things. But today is a different day, it is a day that Christ is looking for true worshippers. Not they who worship him with their mouths and hands, but they who worship him inwardly. The only way that we are going to be able to keep walking under grace is to remain under it. Not picking and choosing what parts or what rules do or do not apply to us. Truth is, they all apply to us, and, if we should just be obedient enough to receive his Holy Spirit, there is not one of those rules that is hard to follow. It is when we lean unto our own selves or out unto the ways of the world that we will meet confusion and knot know which way to turn. When we are set free from the law, we must remain free from it and the only way to do that is to follow Jesus Christ. For he is dead to the law, Paul was dead to the law, and we must be dead to the law as well. If Christ lives in your heart then you know exactly what this scripture is saying and this explanation is yes and amen. If it causes yo to become confused or to debate, then you are who it has been written for. You see, it is not about patting on the back those who are already in line with the scriptures. They are already in line for a reward that no man can give them. But it is about helping those who are lacking and have wandered from the path that God has created them to be on. It is about repentance from the heart, redemption from the Lord, and a new life that sets us free from the bondage of sin. Creating in us a new man or woman that is capable and willing to live a life dead to the world and alive in Jesus Christ. Prayer is the key to heaven, and faith unlocks the door!!! Have a great day!!!
