Daily Bread 2-18-17

Hebrews 2:12-14

12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

Isa 12:2 - Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust and be not afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Isa 8:18 - Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in Mount Zion.

Ro 8:3 - For what the law could not do , in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his only Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

Col 2:15 - And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

2T 1:10 - But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Through the gospel we have been given the power in Jesus Christ not only to resist the devil but to conquer his power. The strongest power the devil has is the power over death and in this wonderful Gospel we are shown how to take that power away from him. It wasn't by the example of Moses, or by the example of Noah, or even by the example of Isaiah, that we find this power. Although all of these men had there place in history as great men of God they could only look for this power. They could only prophesy of a time to come. But, today, since the days of Christ on this earth, we have actually been given what these men were so faithfully speaking of. We have been given Jesus Christ. Not only as an example but also as a Spirit that will come and abide in our souls if we will only believe and become obedient to what he has taught us. The fear of death, the fear of this life being all there is and when it is over it is over? Gone in Jesus Christ who offers everlasting life to all who will come to him humbly by faith. These signs and wonders of God's people enduring through the pains and hardships that this world has to offer are a great example for the world to see. People actually enduring to the end no matter what the circumstances praising God and believing in Jesus Christ, the Savior, the Messiah, the Son of God! Today let us put our trust in him and receive what we need to show the devil that he holds no power over us because in us dwells the mighty conqueror!!! Inside us dwells the Spirit of a lamb that became a lion!! Inside us dwells the same Spirit that has conquered the devil so many times before!! Inside us dwells the Holy Spirit of God in Jesus Christ!!! WE've got the power in the name of the Lord!!! Have a great day!!!
