Daily Bread 2-11-17

Matthew 18:32-35

32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

ref. - Eph 4:32 - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Matt 6:12-15 - And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive men not their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt 7:1,2 - Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Mk 11:26 - But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

This is not a suggestion, nor is it an option. It is a requirement for any who want to find eternal life. Today, if you cannot find it in your heart to forgive it is time to pray for it before you pay for it. We already know, if we are trying to follow the lead of Christ, that without him we can do nothing. So why do we try to struggle along and find the answers and the power on our own? If we are to reap the benefits of a life of salvation in Jesus Christ then we must believe in his words. Even when they do not agree with what we have inside our hearts.......correction.........especially when they do not agree with what is in our hearts. The only way to accept this is the same way that we have received anything from our Lord, on our knees. The world and it's ways lead us to destruction and death. A life filled with anger, hatred, and evil. The Lord will lead us to everlasting life. A life filled with peace and love and hope. So let us keep this short and sweet this morning. If you are holding something against someone, go to the Lord and ask him to release what is binding you. Ask him to aid you in the forgiveness that he requires of you so that nothing will be hinder your progress in him. Ask him to lead you down the right path and put you in front of the right people who are of a like mind and want to strive for similar mastery in Him. Ask that his will be done, as it is his will that we have the tools necessary to forgive others. And, last but equally important, in Jesus' name, believe!!! Have a great day!!!
