Daily Bread 2-7-17

Ephesians 1:13,14

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom after that ye also believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

ref. - 2 Co 1:22 - Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

2 Co 5:5 - Now he that wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Ro 8:23 - And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption to wit, the redemption of our body.

Ac 20:28 - Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased in his own blood.

We speak of the day that we were washed in the blood of the lamb. We tell of a day that our way of thinking was changed, and, in turn, our ways of life. What a great and wonderful day, when we prayed for forgiveness and a new life began!! If we remember that day, and a true transformation took place, we will remember a feeling of emptiness, almost nothing for a moment, and then a warmth and a different feeling rose up inside our hearts minds and souls. We looked out at the world and the people in it with a different set of eyes. Eyes that had hope, eyes that had promise! Eyes that could see things like never before!! The new man was born again! The only thing that got us to this point was God in Jesus Christ and the only way we passed into this realm was that we believed! We trusted in what we were told and believed that there was help out there that didn't come in the form of something in this world. We believed that God could help us and we were saved by Jesus Christ! Now what we have to look forward to is a constant feeling that we had at our Spiritual conception. What we have been given here on earth is just an earnest, or downpayment(promise, if you will) of what lies ahead for those who follow Christ until the end. Now, this is life and breath for those who are already partakers of this promise and this hope, but what about those who have not yet had their minds changed and their hearts altered? Do we leave them behind? Maybe some,but that is up to God. But know this, through the hope and promise that others see in us many will come to Christ. If we possess this great thing we need to show others how great it is. Not all are missionaries and not all are evangelists, but all are the born again, brought in by adoption, devil conquering, children of God!! We must not all try to go out and preach or teach as these things are given of God as gifts and are not for everyone, but we must realize that everywhere we go we are representatives of Christ. We must watch over ourselves and realize that if we are going to be born again and followers of Christ we must be changed inside by the Spirit. We are to be saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit!! What we have been given in the Holy Spirit is enough to get us through until Christ comes again, but if God chooses to give us a gift or a calling, we willingly will work that calling as it is necessary for our own salvation to fulfill what God has put upon us. So, first of all, salvation is the key to all of the promises. Use it and believe that God is love and that Christ is there any time you need to talk to him. He will not only hear your prayers but answer them as well. And then your new life? Well, I will just let you find that one out for yourselves!!! Believe and receive and Christ will do in you a great miracle today!! Repent of your sins and ask him in and he will change everything inside of you and you will soon find, the child of God within you!!! Have a great day!!!
