Daily Bread 2-4-17
Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before his shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
ref. - Ac 8:32 - The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth.
1P 1:19 - But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
We have such a great example in Christ. One that we need to practice in our lives as we try to be transformed into Spiritual people. In Christ we have examples in humility, patience, devotion, and so many other things that will create in us a good godly man or woman. Many times in our lives we think that we have the power or the information to fight a battle or to get revenge on someone. But when it comes right down to it, whether we have the power or not, we must still follow the example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We must remain true to the teachings of the Gospel through the scriptures. Although he was being falsely accused he kept his silence. He had the power to bring down ten thousand angels and destroy anyone, but he kept his peace. He had the "goods" on everyone that could have destroyed them, but he remained silent and let God's will be done. He had all the resources to clear his name and the names of his disciples but he left it alone and let the people of the world and even the Church(synagogue) at that time go ahead and talk about him and have their way. Not only did he endure through embarrassment or suffering, but unto death. All the while they were making lies about him and spreading terrible rumors about him and his disciples, he remained quiet. You see, this was not out of ignorance or stupidity, it was out of faith. Christ was our prime example of faith in God. He showed us that no matter what storm we weather, we stay in contact with the Father and let him hear our humble cries. No matter what trial we face or what persecution we go through, we must not fight fire with fire, but have faith in God and trust that he hears our every outcry. No matter even the punishments that are dealt out to us by the princes of this world(ungodly people) we must hold our peace. We must know that God has the final say and that if we can endure through all the heartache and the pain, all the pain and the suffering, that on the other side lies peace, love, and joy. When we reach the other side there will be no more pain, the suffering will be no more. Our false accusers and our oppressors will have been conquered and judged by the righteous one, and they will no longer bring torment into our lives. Most of all, we will someday see him as he is and we will be like him! Oh, what a glorious Savior! Praise God!!! Have a great day!!!!
