Romans 7:14,15

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

15 For that which I do I allow not, for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

ref. - Gal 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

This is a difficult scripture to understand in some eyes. But through the Spirit we can see that we are no longer in control of our members and that everything that we do that is good does not come from us, but it comes from the Spirit of God. Many use this scripture as a license to sin but it is exactly the opposite. What it means is that we do not have it in us to do good unless it comes from a different Spirit than what we were born into. So we must remember, without the Holy Spirit, our works and our actions, even our beliefs, are fruitless. Let us look into verse 15; If we do things on our own they will not be good so we must rely on the Spiritual side of us, that is Jesus Christ. Paul was a Spiritual man so he understood that God's way was good and that if he leaned into his own self he would step out under the law again. We don't do good because we are doing it, it is because we have submitted to the Spirit. We don't have good intentions and clean hearts because we put them there, it is because we have submitted to the Spirit. When we do things that are sinful and without faith, things we are to hate according to scripture, is when we are acting on our own. Understand that no good thing come from the heart of man, all good things come from above. this is why we need to lean unto the Spirit and Spiritual teachings, that of Jesus Christ, to guide our paths. Leaning unto tradition and heresy is the way of a carnal man, this is what has been put in us from birth, but a Spiritual transformation in each and every one of us needs to occur before our actions and thoughts become those of a Godly man or woman. I am now starting to realize why my Grandpa was led to start this church and that there are very few Churches, if any, that teach sound doctrine. God hasn't given this level of understanding to just anyone, he is giving it to a Church that has a zeal for things of the Spirit. A Church that has been transformed in the Spirit, and not conforming to the world. Won't you be transformed as well, nit just a hearer but a doer, and join us?
