Daily Bread 1-24-17

2 Peter 2:12-15

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving while they feast with you;

14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15 which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

ref. - Jer 12:3 - But thou, O Lord, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward thee: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

Phil 3:19 - Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Rom 13:13 - Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkeness, not in chambering and wantoness, not in strife and envying.

1Cor 11:20,21 - When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

There are false prophets among us and the closer we draw to god the more we will be able to see who they are. We must strive to stay on the right path so that when they are revealed we are not looking in the mirror. The word of God is a two edged sword but a sword nonetheless. It is not made for buttering toast but for cutting and carving what is unnecessary out of our souls and God has promised to heal us and fill us with that which is good. We must pray always and seek for this removal of evil from our souls and for the influx of the Holy Ghost as it is the only way that we will not be named when these false prophets are made manifest in the sight of all. God knows our hearts and he knows who is for him or against him. We may say that we know God but by our actions and our deeds we prove that we do not. We may say that "we are the Church" but Christ is the Church. We are just members that have been grafted in by adoption. A great privilege and honor to serve God not a right. The word of God is pretty clear in this scripture in that it calls out those who are fighting against the true Gospel. It says that the children are cursed. Why does a whole Church go astray and start looking for the feel good, anything goes, kick and shout, Church? Because that is what is in their Pastor. They become content with what they have because they have become like other Churches. Receiving their ideas and doctrine from other places which they know not because God didn't give them that doctrine. Searching through textbooks for explanations while the Holy Ghost is left aside. These are wells without water. Temporary and in great jeopardy of being left alone at judgment. It is not time to try to be like another Church, it is not time to turn to another man made gospel. It is time to repent and be redeemed, hoping that God will allow us to serve him in truth once again! It is time to stop following vain promises and seek after the things that are promised of the Lord. Like the word of God says, if the things that God has allowed you to see and partake in were done in Sodom, they would have fallen on their knees in sackcloth and ashes like the people of Ninevah, but you have gone astray and followed your lust for earthly things. Therefore I cannot work in you saith the Holy Ghost. Repent and return to what God has called you to. Humble yourselves at the feet of Jesus and come back behind him like we have been made to do. There is no room for excuses and false Gods. I am the Lord thy God and there shall be no other Gods before me saith the Lord. This is the voice of reason and it is the voice of God.
