Daily Bread 1-21-17
Jude 20-21
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus christ unto eternal life.
ref. - Col 2:7 - Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Matt 10:20 - For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit if your Father which speaketh in you.
Ro 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself taketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.
Today we spend our time reflecting on ourselves. Do we pray out of necessity? Are we unwilling? Is it loud prayer so that those who are near can hear? Or do we pray from our souls in the Holy Ghost? In order to build ourselves up in the eyes of man we make fancy long prayers and shout them from the corners. As Christ says in the Scripture; as the hypocrites do. In order to receive what we need we almost demand God to perform for us when we tell him what we want instead of asking his will to be done. We do not receive because we ask for the wring things and we sk in the wrong way. If we would just stay true to the scripture and what it teaches us we would know that he already knows our needs before we ask. All he is waiting for is for us to break through into the Spirit instead of the flesh. He is waiting for us to come to him as Christ taught us. Along with our prayers from the soul, we must also find roots in him. The only way that we an stay in the love of God is to let the love of God abide in us. The only way to do this is to become Spiritual people rather than carnal. Let Christ speak in you and the rest of your members will follow. This verse does not say let Christ speak through you, it says let him speak in you, and then what comes from your fountain will be from him. What comes from the well will be his water! His will will become our will!! It will be then that our prayers will not only be heard but answered!! Have a great day!!!!
